Research Associate and Business Development for Africa
As a proven leader in information technology, Lucky Murinda has helped companies grow their technological capabilities with keen insight and creative ideas. At SI3 Group he is responsible for business development into new markets as well as assessing internal technological capabilities, conducting research and formulating strategies for new projects.
Recently, Lucky served as the Systems Support Engineer for Shankly Technologies, a mobile value-added service company. His contributions included leading teams in India and Zimbabwe for the design and deployment of a new infrastructure and network architecture for mobile VAS products, now widely deployed for a mobile application in Zimbabwe. In 2019 he also helped integrate the entire company’s product workflow into the Cloud, which allowed for 99.9% availability, increased subscriber base from 100,000 from to over 1 million within a year, and a 200% increase in revenue from 2019-2021.
Lucky has a diploma in Computing with Business Management and is a member of the Internet Society Community in Zimbabwe. Lucky resides in Harare, Zimbabwe. He dedicates time to developing others and the innovation ecosystem, by mentoring early-stage technology entrepreneurs and volunteering technical advice to non-profits working to expand rural access to educational resources via mobile applications.
